How it all started...
We shouldn't be surprised that the beginning of Cartecay Baptist Church is tied to apples. Ellijay is known as Georgia's Apple Capital after all, so it's fitting that on May 22, 1988, it was at Woodring's Apple House on Highway 52E where the first meeting of the future church would be. Five people gathered for a Bible study led by Clayton Brothers that day.
Expanding the vision...
After this start, the church began to grow and eventually expanded to it's current location. In 2020, a renovation project led to KidzTown and the Loft areas being created for the students of Cartecay Baptist. A focus on Missions and Evangelism resulted in God growing His church.
Where we are headed...
As the area changes, we are preparing to change with it. We are working on expanded ministries to families and senior adults. We are also starting a ministry to the Hispanic community in the Cartecay area.
